This is the moment that Jordanian footballer Baker Kamal Kalbouneh was sent off for a shocking head-high tackle just five seconds into a game.
The 19-year-old forward was lining up for Jordan against Tajikistan in the AFC U20 Asian Cup on Thursday, but his day could not have gone any worse.
As his side got things underway, Kalbouneh raced forward to get on the end of a clipped ball from his team-mate Omar Al Osad but in reality, he always looked second favourite.
In a sheer moment of madness, instead of connecting with the ball, Kalbouneh’s raised boot went straight into the back of Mekhrubon Karimov’s head, sending the Tajikistan defender tumbling down to the floor in agony.
Slow motion replays show the Jordanian forward had both feet off the ground when his studs made a sickening impact with the defender’s head and face.
