IndiGo marked its entry to Central Asia by announcing direct flights to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. With this grand beginning, the airline established its 31st international destination. The airline announced the incredible news of marking its 110th overall destination on Wednesday. It is all set to operate direct flights to Tashkent from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport from 22 September 2023.
IndiGo Launches Weekly Flights To Tashkent
India’s largest airline announced non-stop flights to Tashkent from Delhi and vice versa on 16 August. The air travel will be operated between Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport in Tashkent. IndiGo will commence 4 weekly direct flights between both of these cities. The launch of this new route within Asia is to cater to the rise in demand for flights here.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has provided approval to IndiGo for starting flight services to the Uzbekistan capital. Now, it is only a wait of a month to start flight operations between these cities.
The airline shared its plans for establishing international routes to foreign countries in June 2023. There are plans to launch non-stop flights to Africa and Central Asia, according to a report by CNBC TV18.
