President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Joomart Tokayev dismissed Chairman of the National Bank Galymzhan Pirmatov, the presidential press service reports.
“Galymzhan Pirmatov was relieved of the post of chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan by the decree of the head of state,” the report says.
Timur Suleimenov became the new chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. His candidacy was submitted to the Senate by the President. The upper house of parliament agreed on the candidacy of Suleimenov.
Timur Suleimenov has been working as First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan since January 2022. He previously worked as an assistant to the president, deputy chairman of the National Bank, and minister of national economy.
Galymzhan Pirmatov headed the National Bank on February 3, 2022. Prior to that, he worked as Chairman of the Board of Kazatomprom JSC, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, President of Cameco Kazakhstan, Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan.
