A fairly large explosion occurred in Tashkent, Uzbekistan , Thursday (28/9). The explosion occurred in a warehouse in a district near the city’s airport.
This explosion is also said to have caused a fire in the Sergeli district, where the explosion occurred. Firefighters and rescue vehicles have now arrived at the scene.
Officers continued to try to extinguish the fire which appeared not long after the large explosion occurred.
However, there are no details regarding casualties or injuries as a result of this explosion. Details of the losses cannot be estimated at this time.
Quoting Reuters, several planes scheduled to land at the airport are still operating. This can be seen from the FlightRadar aircraft monitoring site.
However, flights at Tashkent International Airport will also be closed at exactly 02.00 and 07.00 local time. This is possibly due to the explosion and fire that occurred.
