Kyrgyzstan earned a historic gold medal in the junior part of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana but the Central Asian country has still a busy boxing calendar until the end of the year.

Their three events will be still coming soon in the country and among them two will be international competitions for the region’s best talents.

The Kochkorbek Alimzhanov Youth Memorial Tournament is holding in the city of Dzhalal-Abad this week. The traditional event features for the 17 and 18-year-old boxers and the finals will be held on November 10. The number of the participating youth boxers was 104 in the last 2022 edition in Dzhalal-Abad.

Their next event will be the Aibek Abdymomunov Prizes Schoolboys Tournament in the city of Karakol which is another traditional competition in the country. The competition will be held for the youngest age group in Karakol where the Schoolboys National Champions of the country all are planning to compete from November 23 and 27.

The most important competitions for them, the Kyrgyz Elite National Championships will take place in Bishkek on December 4-9. The event will be held in all of the women’s and men’s weight classes in the Elite National Championships.

The last edition of the Kyrgyz Republic’s main competition, the Elite National Championships took place in the Kozhomkul Sport Hall in Bishkek one year ago. Kyrgyzstan’s last Olympian boxer, Erkin Adylbek Uulu is three-times ASBC medallist and he claimed his gold medal in the National Championships once again in December 2022. The Kyrgyz boxers will be competing at the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event in Italy next March and the National Championships could be an important selection. None of the Kyrgyz boxers have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games yet but they will have still two opportunities next year.
