16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Start in Kyrgyzstan

The annual global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” was launched in Kyrgyzstan on November 25.

The campaign begins on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ends on December 10, International Human Rights Day.

The goal of the campaign is to unite the efforts of stakeholders, including the state, civil society organizations, international organizations, the private sector, the media and academia, to take joint actions and measures to eradicate all forms of violence against women and girls.

The theme of the campaign changes every year, and in 2023 it is “Invest to prevent violence against women and girls.” This theme highlights the urgent need to mobilize the entire society to invest in preventive action to eradicate gender-based violence at all levels.
