Kazakhstan and Pakistan Align Key Industries

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, and Secretary of Economic Affairs, Humair Karim, to discuss enhancing trade and economic ties. The discussions highlighted growing cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress in their partnership, particularly in trade. They emphasized the positive developments and showed a strong commitment to further strengthening collaboration in various sectors.

The talks also focused on preparing for major events in early 2025, including the Kazakh-Pakistani Intergovernmental Joint Commission, Joint Working Groups, and a Business Forum. These events aim to deepen their partnership and open new opportunities for cooperation.

Key areas of focus included improving regional connectivity, enhancing transport and logistics, and establishing direct banking and air freight services. The synchronization of customs, veterinary, and phytosanitary departments was also discussed to streamline trade processes.

Jam Kamal Khan and Humair Karim expressed their full support for these plans and pledged to assist in their implementation. Both reaffirmed their commitment to diversifying and strengthening economic ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
