FlyArystan, Kazakhstan’s leading low-cost airline, continues its international expansion with exciting news of flights to China. For the first time, the LCC will connect Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, to Urumqi in China’s Xinjiang Region.
Commencing in September, the Astana-Urumqi-Astana route will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, with the potential to increase based on demand. FlyArystan offers an enticing lowest fare of 18,000 tenge ($40) for this captivating route.
Urumqi, the administrative center of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, holds great historical significance as a key point on the Great Silk Road. Today, it stands as one of Asia’s largest cities, attracting tourists with its breathtaking natural beauty and thriving trade opportunities.
Renat Abulkhanov, Director of Network Planning and Revenue Management, said,
“Our first route to China, Astana-Urumqi, connects Kazakhstan’s capital with one of the most developed cities in western China – Urumqi. The city is located at an important transport junction connecting the northern and southern parts of Xinjiang and has unique geographical advantages for the development of border trade. Xinjiang Uygur region and Kazakhstan are brought together by similar languages, religion, lifestyle and traditions, which provides excellent conditions for the development of partnership relations,
“We are very excited to bring our low-fare model to China and to provide our passengers with affordable flights on our Airbus A320 aircraft. To secure the lowest fares of 18,000 tenge we recommend that passengers plan their trips in advance and buy tickets on our FlyArystan app or via the flyarystan.com website using the low price calendar.”
FlyArystan, Central Asia’s largest LCC, is dedicated to providing budget-friendly travel opportunities in the region. The new route to China is a testament to the airline’s expansion policy, catering to the demand for low-fare travel.
Offering a base fare of 18,000 tenge, passengers can customize their travel experience based on their preferences. FlyArystan encourages travelers to seize this opportunity and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Urumqi.
FlyArystan’s growing network, fleet, and potential
China becomes the 8th country in FlyArystan’s expanding network, joining Turkey, Georgia, India, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The airline plans to launch more destinations soon, and subscribers will be notified of the best prices and updated on upcoming expansion plans. Two months ago, FlyArystan began operating two weekly passenger flights to New Delhi, India.
FlyArystan, initially under the ownership of Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana, is reportedly set to become a separate business by 2024, as recent reports suggest. Since its inception in 2018, the low-cost airline has witnessed impressive growth, with 2022 marking a remarkable milestone as it served three million passengers on over 20,000 flights.
Last year’s passenger count saw a 6% increase compared to 2021, while the airline maintained an impressive average load factor of 87%.
At present, FlyArystan operates a fleet of 14 Airbus A320 aircraft, having added its first new factory-fresh A320neo aircraft in September 2022 and now boasting five of the more advanced models in its fleet. With ambitious expansion plans, the company aims to expand its fleet to 19 aircraft by the end of 2023.
In 2022, FlyArystan achieved a significant milestone by passing the Skytrax audit and obtaining a four-star rating, joining the ranks of just 12 low-cost airlines worldwide with such recognition.
